How about a little light entertainment whilst we await the outcome of the NCC and EA consultations.
This game is all about trying to figure what Dart are actually up to.
Whilst reading through the paperwork provided by Dart to NCC and EA and hence to the public via the NCC & EA websites we noticed a mismatch between a couple of important drawings. The drawings are referenced (by us) as TL9/4_NCC and TL9/4_EA. The references are necessarily our own added references because otherwise it would be difficult to tell them apart. It would appear the consultants were instructed by Dart to made a significant change to the original drawing. That change was made without registering a revision to the original. In effect therefore there are two drawings in existence with identical drawing numbers TL9/4 in the hands of NCC and EA but that are different and portray significantly different detail. So members of the public in replying to the NCC and EA consultations will be referring to different criteria on those drawings.
So have you found the discrepancy? Check out the bottom section in the string, there is a change in True Vertical Depth from around 3,300 m (NCC) to 1,810 m (EA). Now to be fair there is enough vagueness in the description that accompanies that might allow Dart to do this. However if there is such a change to be made then the regulators ought to have been advised so that all interested parties and the public were aware of the change. But check it out again on NCC’s copy the bottom hole is 6 inches diameter with a 4 ½ inch casing /liner and on EA’s copy its a bottom hole of 8 ½ inches diameter and a 5 ½ inch casing/liner. So the drawings and Darts intentions are apparently significantly different.
We have advised the EA and NCC accordingly and hopefully they will inform Dart. We wonder what other changes might have been made and not appropriately registered in the separate packs held by NCC and EA. So much for the Quality Management System (QMS) expounded by Dart. Might this glitch constitute a major nonconformity of that QMS, probably not, this is after all a game of Darts and they seem intent to play by their own rules.
