The Environment Agency (EA) confirm that they have now received an application from Dart Energy to cover the management of extractive mining waste at Tinker Lane. The application is open for public consultation until 28th September 2016. The EA reference is EPR/EB3406XP/A001 and electronic copies are available on the EA website.
Two things struck me glancing at the accompanying documentation. Dart Energy persist in describing the Mini Frac as a pressure determination test, much less emotive terminology of course but a case of being somewhat economical with the truth. Also Dart have appended their ISO Certificate of Approval for ISO 9001 and 14001 (Quality and Environmental Standards respectively). The Scope of the management systems only apply to iGas Energy employees and not to their partners or contractors. Contractors and partners are allowed to operate their own systems (not necessarily to ISO standards) and therefore it is up to Dart to ensure that adequate levels of competence prevail across their contracted out operations at Tinker Lane (most of them). So that’s all right then!
